Where do kids learn how to lie. It is strange how all of a sudden they know how to tell a fib. Ella lied to me today... it makes me a bit sad but i can also understand why she did it.....i think she was worried that i would be mad at her or disappointed and it was over something so silly. Today at school was sweet treats day - i think it is like a cake stall or something with cakes, biscuits etc on sale from about 50cents or so. I gave her money so that she could buy something and when i picked her up i asked her what she bought at the sweet treats stall. She said that she got a sort of lollipop thing and i said oh thats nice because i was assuming she bought a toffee on a stick or something. We get home and Ella is going to change out of her uniform and i said could she give me her change out of her pocket so i could wash her dress and she says that she will just put the money in her money box. I said no i want it back so she can use it another day at canteen and she didnt want to give it to me but does. Well it was the same amount as i gave her this morning. I said to her "Ella you didnt buy anything at all did you?" and she said no. I didnt mind if she didnt want to buy anything but i dont like lying. As it turns out, she said she could not find it and did not know what to do etc so she didnt go and neither did her friends etc. I said that that was fine but she should just tell me that in the first place. Kids are very strange indeed.
I hope it is not the start of a bad habit!
